Born and raised around the Midwest, Samantha has enthusiastically settled in Minneapolis to root herself into the strong and vibrant local arts community. Preparing for a life in the arts since she was 4, Sam pursued and graduated with a degree is Studio Art from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul with an emphasis in ceramics. Since then, she has experienced many facets of a career in the arts including being an educator and studio artist. She spent the last 8 years coordinating and teaching arts and nature integrated education at Silverwood Park in St. Anthony, teaching art at local private schools for grades K-8 and maintaining a studio practice and small business creating and selling her porcelain wares before finding a sweet spot as Education Coordinator at NCC; here, she is overjoyed to marry her passions of ceramics, education, and community. In her spare time, Sam enjoys spending as much time outside as possible hiking, foraging, gardening, and bird-watching and can often be found visiting local breweries with her husband, friends, and family; playing with different art mediums; or catching up on shows and podcasts with her two cats.
