Carol Novak began her journey by crafting bonsai pots for her own trees. Over time, her passion grew, and she expanded her work to include hand-built pots for both herself and other bonsai enthusiasts.She primarily works with various types of high-fire stoneware. She employs a range of techniques, with slab construction being her primary method. Her eclectic style is reflected in her creative use of stains, glazes, textured surfaces, painting, and the incorporation of diverse shapes into her work.
No two of Carol’s pots are ever the same. Her collection is diverse, featuring shallow ovals designed for delicate deciduous trees as well as larger, rectangular containers suitable for mature bonsai specimens. This variety ensures that her pots meet the needs of a wide range of bonsai styles and preferences. Each piece Carol creates is unique, embodying her creative approach and her appreciation for the diverse requirements of both her own bonsai trees and those of others in the community of bonsai enthusiasts.
