Parties & Private Events

Looking for a creative way to celebrate a special occasion? Whether it’s a birthday, team outing, anniversary, or just a fun get-together, we’ll help you throw a private pottery party to remember! Choose wheel-throwing (ages 9+ who don’t mind getting messy) or handbuilding (great for all ages). From a quiet celebration for two to a 15-person party, our teaching artists will tailor the experience so everyone leaves with muddy hands and happy memories.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

2-hour handbuilding class or 3-hour wheel-throwing class
Opportunity to reserve our break room (cake, anyone?!)
Artist demonstration and support
Handmade piece(s) by you, ready 3-4 weeks after the event. You’ll get emailed when it’s ready!

ADD ONS:

Celebration cake from a local bakery. Starts at $50. Inquire more about sizes & flavors. Can add “happy birthday” script!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the event. Cancellations made between 7 days and 24 hours before the event are subject to a 50% cancellation fee (equivalent to the deposit). Unfortunately, we can’t offer refunds within 24 hours of the event. There will be no exceptions granted for any reason.

AFTER YOUR EVENT

You will be emailed when your pieces have been glazed — we will hold your pieces for 1 month from that email. After that time has passed, they will either be donated or discarded.

You can pick up your pieces during Gallery Hours:
Tuesday-Sunday, 10 am – 5 pm
Extended hours Thursdays until 7 pm
(except for holidays and installation days)

Event options

HANDBUILDING

In this 2-hour class, you’ll learn the basics of handbuilding, a project decided on prior to the class. The end of class will include time to paint your pieces as well as a 10-minute clean up. After your class, you will have a handbuilt piece(es) that —teachers will clear glaze your work— you can take home! Expect a 3 week turn around for your pieces to be fully (twice) fired and then you can come pick them up at the center.

All ages 6 and up welcome — youth, adults or intergenerational
Each participant makes and decorate their own unique version of the project, with the help of the teaching artist
Cost starts at $400 — flat rate for up to 8 participants; additional participants are $38 per person, up to 15 max
Example projects include: pinch pot mugs, trinkets, dishes, masks, finger-puppets, pinch-pot animals, fairy homes

WHEEL

In this 3-hour class, you’ll learn the basics of throwing pottery on the wheel; there will be a wheel for every participant to throw at the same time. The end of class will include time to paint your pieces as well as a 20-minute clean up. After your class, you will have a beautiful pot(s) that —teachers will clear glaze your work— you can take home! Expect a 3 week turn around for your pieces to be fully (twice) fired and then you can come pick them up at the center.

All ages, 9 & up welcome — youth, adults or intergenerational
Each participant can keep and decorate 1 – 3 pieces each
Cost starts at $600 — flat rate for up to 10 participants; additional participants are $45 per person, up to 12 max
Example projects include: bowls, cups, mugs, vases and more!

After you submit a request we will reach out via email within 3-5 business days to confirm details and answer any additional questions. Then we will get started on planning your event. Once a teacher is found for your date, we will confirm it with an email and invoice.
A 50% deposit is needed to confirm your event — the remainder of payment is due on the day of your event.

Please note that we need at least two weeks notice to schedule your party. Dates and times are subject to other activities at NCC. We will work with you to find a date that works for all parties!
