Thursday Discovery Series: Gabs Conway Artist Talk
Explore the curiosity of existence with NCC’s Summer McKnight Ceramic Artist in Residence Gabs Conway. In this free talk, Gabs will share her inspiration and appreciation for the mundane, alongside discussion on her artistic world building, technical processes, experiences as a professional ceramic artist, and the impact that her McKnight Residency for Ceramic Artists has had on her practice so far.
Originally from Missoula, Montana, Gabs holds a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and has spent time in the field working as an educator and studio coordinator. She was a long term resident with Wildfire Ceramics Studio, has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the United States, and holds awards from institutions such as Belger Arts and Wildfire Ceramics Studio. Her experiences inform her personal work in many ways as she pushes the boundaries of clay; explores relationships and community, and is intrigued by familiarity in the unusual.
