Your resource for all things clay!
Northern Clay Center’s Library is a unique resource dedicated to the ceramic arts, offering an extensive collection of books, exhibition catalogs, magazines, DVDs, and workshop materials. Available to current students and members, the library supports learning, research, and creative exploration while helping preserve the rich history and ongoing evolution of the ceramic arts.
About the Library
Northern Clay Center is home to one of the largest ceramic-specific libraries in the Midwest, located in NCC’s office. The library includes books, exhibition catalogs, magazines, DVDs, and other resources focused on the ceramic arts.
The library is also home to years of NCC workshop demonstration pieces created by visiting artists and then bisque-fired. While these pieces do not circulate, visitors are welcome to examine them while using the library.
Many of the titles in the collection have been generously donated by former students, teachers, artists, and mentors, including Peter Lupori, Peter Leach, Warren MacKenzie, and Joan Mondale.
Borrowing Materials
Current NCC students and members may check out up to three items at a time for a two-week lending period. To check out materials, simply fill out the checkout form located by the online card catalog and place it in the black ballot box.
Items may be returned to the book return bin located on the office counter. Materials may be renewed once by emailing library@northernclaycenter.org
Hours
The library is open during NCC office hours:
Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
Support the Library
