Regis Master: Richard Shaw

MAY 11 – JULY 1, 2012
Emily Galusha Gallery

“Having to come up with new stuff all the time keeps me alive.”
— Richard Shaw

Richard Shaw, Northern Clay Center’s 24th Regis Master, was one of two ceramic artists bestowed with this title in 2012. The other, Jun Kaneko, was featured in an exhibition later in 2012. The Regis Masters Series began in 1997 and honors senior artists, over the age of 65, who have had a major impact on the development of 20th century—now 21st century—ceramics. Shaw added to an oral history of a senior generation of ceramic artists on Saturday, May 26, at 2 pm, with a free public lecture at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
