MARCH 15 – MAY 12, 2013
Emily Galusha Gallery
Northern Clay Center presented an exhibition featuring clay work created during our 2012 – 2013 partnerships with various 55+ communities. Across the metro, NCC has impacted the lives of thousands of older adults through its clay classes, artist demonstrations, and artistic programming at senior living communities, hospitals, and community centers, giving these individuals a new creative voice. This exhibition provided a look back at the triumphs of this multi-year grant, generously supported by an Excellence Award from the Wallace Foundation and an Arts Learning grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. In addition to ceramic objects created by our 55+ constituencies, this exhibition featured the work of NCC’s ART@HAND teaching artists and select gatekeepers from our partnering organizations. NCC collaborated with Twin Cities Public Television to create a special feature highlighting Northern Clay Center’s programming through ART@HAND, for populations 55+; the video was on view in the gallery for the duration of the exhibition.
