Material, voice, color, activism, texture, and mastery of all of the above were on offer this month. Pafford’s delight in the exploration of material captivates and happily forces conversation about object. The rhythmic surfaces, patterns, and colors of Repsher’s work is hypnotic and satisfying in a more hushed fashion. Schmidt submitted charming characters with covert messages of revolt, and Webb conveyed modern unrest and contemporary story, and both of them worked fluidly between 3D modeling and 2D illustration to do so.
