Elspeth Fisher began her ceramic journey in college, studying at Bethel University, the University of Minnesota, and the Northern Clay Center. She is a 2016 graduate of the MN NICE Program and has been a community member at Fired Up Studio in Northeast Minneapolis. Fisher’s work often combines materials and processes. She creates her work using traditional clay and glaze as well as string, polymer clay, cotton, and tool dip. Her work attempts to transcend the limitations of language and access something that can be universally recognized but not named.
