Business Manager

Corrie Besse (she/her) originates from southeastern Nebraska, received her BA in theatre arts and communication studies from Central College (Pella, IA), and her MFA in theatre with a focus on arts leadership from Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, VA) in spring, 2021. Prior to her academic adventures she lived and worked in a community of vibrant artists in Chicago. Corrie has served as an administrator, production manager, stage manager, producer, mentor, and educator. No matter what her title she strives to be resource, empower emerging artists and their work, foster adaptability, and cultivate creativity. Most recently she served as the managing director for the Theater & Performance Studies Program at the University of Chicago and the operations manager for Salonathon. She has been fortunate to work with Springboard for the Arts, A Red Orchid Theatre, Albany Park Theater Project, Barrel of Monkeys, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theater, Chicago Dance Crash, Chicago Humanities Festival, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Famous Door, Hypocrites, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co, PineBox, Redmoon, Roosevelt University, Seanachai, Shattered Globe, Teatro Vista, and the Gate Theatre, London. Additionally, Corrie serves as a board member for Chicago Arts Access.
