Alysha Hill

Alysha (she/her) is a born and raised Minnesotan from the Twin Cities. During her time at The School of Environmental Studies, she fell deeply in love with the art of ceramics. She then moved up to Fargo/Moorhead to pursue her studies in liberal and fine art at Minnesota State University Moorhead. During which she studied abroad for a semester at the University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins, feeding her fondness for travel, exploration, and worldly culture. Upon Alysha’s return to Minnesota, she worked at Roland Dille Center for the Arts as head install tech and in the spring of 2017 earned a BFA with an emphasis in ceramics. Soon after Alysha returned to Minneapolis, settling in as a ceramic production artist before transitioning to a ceramic teaching artist and lead studio technician role at the Eden Prairie Art Center. Teaching in a community art center gave her an immediate sense of fulfillment being able to share the wonderful explorational opportunities that clay holds for all. After 4+ years she wrapped up her tenure at the EPAC. Now here at NCC as the community engagement manager, she continually strives to help others in the metropolitan community by providing the opportunity to play with clay and empower their self-expression and creative adventures through her teaching artists and partnerships. Alysha is an active ceramic artist, with two small business endeavors, A Hill Studio, her personal ceramic business, and Craft Brew Crew, a traveling pop-up art market. Outside of ceramics, Alysha enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her two loyal pups, working on a good house project, traveling, and spending weekends at her family cabin in Wisconsin.
