Alex Lange Bio
Alex Lange is a teacher and potter working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Alex started his work in clay in the vibrant Powderhorn Park pottery community and has continued his development at the Northern Clay Center in the MN NICE Program. He has worked and taught in many community studios across the Twin Cities. He is grateful for the wealth of knowledge and community in these various clay spaces.
Alex Lange is a teacher and potter working in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lange began his artistic journey studying dance at Luther College. He takes his experience with the body into his pots. His functional forms focus on the liveliness, joy, and energy of pots used for everyday rituals, as well as the beauty of his local environment – often featuring illustrative drawings of native flora of Minnesota and the Midwest.
Alex started his work in clay in the vibrant Powderhorn Park pottery community and continued his development at the Northern Clay Center in the MN NICE Program, followed by joining NCC’s studio program in 2025. He has worked and taught in many community studios across the Twin Cities. He is grateful for the wealth of knowledge and community shared in these clay spaces.
