Clara Grams Bio
Clara Grams is a ceramic artist originally from Flagstaff, Arizona and based in Gainesville Florida. Finding small moments of enchantment in daily life is at the center of her work. She creates forms and surfaces inspired by the natural world, which become abstracted through iteration and repetition. Her forms are organic, with seams that show the process of making. Repeated pinching adds softness and expands the volume of each piece. She is interested in daily rituals–drinking coffee, sharing meals, etc.–and how the objects used can enhance the experience. She has a BFA with a concentration in ceramics from the University of Florida, and recently completed an apprenticeship with Sara Truman in Gainesville, Florida.
